“Rhys?” His name rushes from my mouth on a breath, and I’m off the bed, hurling myself at him top speed. Somehow my legs wrap around his waist and my arms tangle behind his neck. I couldn’t hold back and play this cool if I wanted to. Every part of me that’s been fighting to stay focused, to keep working, to be on, collapses against him. Surrenders to the feel of him in my arms and the smell of him. My fingers lace through his hair. I scatter kisses across his face, the sharp angles and taut skin warm beneath my lips. “So I take it you’re happy to see me?” He chuckles, pressing his forehead to mine, hands squeezing my thighs. “Happy?” I release something that’s half a sob, half a laugh, pulling back a few centimeters to let him breathe. “What gave you that idea?” We stop grinning at the same time, laughter dissolving, our bodies exchanging sensual information. My breasts flattened to his chest. His erection growing and hardening against my core. Our breaths mingling and hearts tattooing beats through our clothes and into the other’s skin. I move first, leaning in to capture his bottom lip between mine, sucking and pulling between my teeth. Licking into his mouth like there’s honey hidden inside. He groans into the kiss, walking backward until we reach the bed and dropping me so I bounce a little, his eyes roving over me head to toe. “Pep, what the hell are you wearing?” Humor and desire tussle in his eyes. I look down, laughing when I see the young Jackson brothers emblazoned across my chest, my legs ending in the footed bottoms. “If I’d known you were coming, I could have made sexier arrangements.” “Arrangements?” He quirks a dark brow, placing a knee on either side of my legs, hovering over me like a promise. “Lingerie would have been nice. Other rock stars have girlfriends who wear lingerie.” “Oh, are you referring to yourself as a rock star now?” I grin up at him, feeling whole for the first time since he kissed me goodbye a week ago. “That’s not egomaniacal at all. Is there a club? You guys have rock star meetings? Does one of you take rock star minutes?” “You are sitting in here listening to my music in the dark.” He leans forward to tug at the zipper beneath my chin. “Maybe you’re actually one of my crazed fans. Or a groupie. I might even find a Mrs. Rhyson Gray t-shirt around here somewhere. My girlfriend doesn’t like those.” “No, she doesn’t.” I shake my head, eyes never straying from his. A small frown jerks his brows together. He tugs again at the zipper, but it doesn’t budge. “Pep, it’s stuck,” he says. “Sometimes it does that,” I answer easily, enjoying the frustration spreading over his expression as he keeps pulling and it keeps staying. He places my hand over his cock, hard and poking through his jeans. “Well, it’s not exactly a good time for it to do that.” I laugh, grasping my zipper and tugging. Wow, it really is stuck. These are vintage PJs, older than I am and threadbare in places. I’m surprised the zipper hasn’t rusted before now. I sit up, bringing our bodies closer as I jiggle the little hook a few times. Nothing. “Just how attached are you to this Jackson Five onesie?” His glance burns hot across my subtle curves visible through the thin flannel, telegraphing his intentions. “Well this is Michael’s original nose.” I release a fake exasperated sigh. “But I do have my sewing kit.” “All I needed to hear.” Sorry, boys. He grabs the two ends of the collar separated by the zip line and pulls until there’s a ripping sound, the panels falling back to reveal my naked breasts and my panties. A wicked grin spreads across lips. “You naughty girl.” He runs a finger over the writing on the front of my calendar panties, carrying a current that simultaneously hitches my breath and gets me wet. “Wearing Monday panties on a Thursday. My little rebel.”   DTMS_immutable

RELEASE DAY – MARCH 28
Born into blood, I was a mafia princess. Raised in hiding, I was a Californian sweetheart.
The day my father sold my thirteen year old body to pay off a five year old debt was the day my mother stole me in the dead of night. She protected me as she was supposed to.
My father may have been the king, but my mother was the queen.
The mafia blood was hers.
That was ten years ago. Now… the devil was on the loose.
Carlo ‘Hunter’ Rosso was my father’s right hand man and the boy I’d loved since I could tie my own shoelaces. He was always the most ruthless and the most deadly of all the children.
He’d thought I was dead until the day his assignment was given: Kill Adriana and Alexandria Romano. Kill the princess, and definitely kill the queen.
What he didn’t know was that the queen was dead, and the princess had taken her throne.
Blood didn’t lie. It smeared, distorted, stained. But it didn’t lie.
My father was going to learn the hard way that the empire he’d stolen belonged to me.
And so did Carlo ‘Hunter’ Rosso.

EXCERPT
He leaned forward and rested his mouth by my ear. “You still have time to make me stop. I meant it, Addy.” Two of his fingers trailed up the inside of my thigh, coming dangerously close to my wet pussy. “I don't want to ruin you. I don't play nice, but the second my mouth is on your cunt, I won't be fucking playing at all.”
I turned my face toward his, and my lips brushed his jaw when I spoke. “Then don't play.”
He pushed two fingers inside me, and I gasped at the sudden intrusion of my body. Heat rushed over me as he pumped them inside me and gripped the back of my neck. “You have until I reach 'one' to make me stop. Five.” He dragged his mouth down my neck. “Four.” His tongue circled my nipple, and he pressed his thumb against my clit. “Three.” He released my neck, licking down my stomach and dipping his tongue into my naval, falling back onto his knees, still bending forward. “Two.” His mouth hovered over my pussy, and he pulled his fingers from my me. “One and a half...”
I half-laughed, half-gasped as he dipped his fingers back inside me.
He grasped my ass with both hands and lifted my hips. “Fucking. One.” He slowly ran his tongue up the length of my pussy, from my ass to my clit.
I threw my arm over my eyes as he zoned in on my clit. Pleasure rocketed through me like waves as he worshipped that tiny spot, rolling his tongue over it again and again. I writhed against him as he fucked me with his mouth, bringing me close the edge before he pulled back and stretched his tongue inside my pussy inside.
I was mumbling incoherently. I didn't know if I was begging for more, for the end, or if I was just pleading his name. The only thing I was sure I knew was that I didn't want him to stop but he needed to stop right now.
“Please tell me you have a condom,” he rasped, his fingers tightening on my thighs like all his retraint was being channeled through his touch.
I nodded and waved toward my nightstand. I was the kind of girl who was prepared for every situation, and apparently having sex with my assassin was one of those.
The drawer slammed open and shut within seconds, and I propped myself up on my elbows to look at him. Hunter dropped his pants, and my throat went dry as he pulled down his boxers. The tip of his cock was just free when he noticed me watching him. His lips tugged up on one side, and the look in his eyes was heated and predatory, but amusement glinted, too.
“I thought you didn't play.”
My words were a challenge, one that sobered him.
The smirk dropped, along with his boxers, and his cock sprung free from the constraints of the fabric. Desire hit me like a tidal wave as he ripped open the packet and pulled out the condom. He grabbed his long, hard cock in a firm grip and rolled on the protection.
I was never surer that a guy touching his own cock was the hottest fucking thing ever.
The second the condom was on fully, Hunter climbed back onto the bed over me and grabbed my hips. I half-laughed as he dragged me down to him, but he swallowed my giggle as he closed his mouth over mine.
He was inside me seconds later.

Review:
Hunter by Blaire Drake was a great read!!
It was totally different from her previous book, Dear Professor, which I also love.
This book is filled with all things of a good romance. I loved Addy and Rosso and the connection they shared. I loved the strong, take charge Addy and Rosso made me fall hard.
Hot characters, steamy scenes, tension and suspense fill this novel with goodness from beginning till end.
Everything about this book drew me in and left me wanting more.
4/5 Stars!

Top 5 Wednesday ~ Least Favorite Book in Your Favorite Series!

Wednesday, March 30, 2016 0 Comments

Hi everyone!

I am here with with my first Top 5 Wednesday! If you want to check it out, you can go to the Goodreads group and read more about it.

This week's topic is top 5 is least favourite book in your favourite series.  I had a some struggles coming up with five books. I want to note, that I do like these books, they just aren't my favourite in their respective series. So without further ado, in no particular order....

I think part of my reasoning for this is because of how it ends, which I won't spoil for those who haven't read it. I can respect the author and her decision to do what she did, however, I don't feel as though it was a good way to end the series.

2) Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins
Out of all three Hunger Games books, Mockingly is my least favourite. I still highly enjoyed this novel, however, part of my problem with it was that it was the final book in the series.

3) Fifty Shades Darker by E.L James
I'm not sure why this is my least favourite out of the series, however, I always find myself wanting to skip reading this book and just keep rereading books one and three.

4) Percy Jackson and The Olympians: The Lightning Thief  by Rick Riordan
Out of all the Percy Jackson books, the first one was my least favourite. When I first started reading, I was unsure if I would continue with the series. As an after thought, I am so glad I did continue, because in my opinion, the series gets better with each book.

5) Breathe by Abbi Glines
I absolutely adore Abbi Glines and her writing, however, out of all her Sea Breeze novels, Breathe is my least favourite. I still love the whole Jax and Sadie storyline, but not as much as I enjoyed the other characters.

Review
I loved this book. It is most definitely not the first book I have read by Lauren Layne and it won’t be the last.
As soon as I received a copy of this book from the publisher, I started it immediately. I loved the first two books in this series; however, I think this one tops them.
Jill and Vincent Moretti are homicide detectives who are so fun to read about. They are two complete opposites and have so much tension between them.
There were so many changes in the characters emotions and feelings from the other books in the series. Vincent is no longer the moody and dark homicide detective from the other books. He is still dark, however, he opens up more and begins to live life with a small smile on his face.
When Jill finally comes home from being away for an extended period of time, Vincent is in for a total shock. What that shock is…. You have to read the book to find out! J
The whole cast of characters had me loving them from the beginning. The family bonds and connections are ones that are so incredible to read about. They are loving and close, just the way a true family should be.
This book is a wonderful addition to the series by Lauren Layne. I highly recommend reading it!!

 Review:
Such an amazing read!! I absolutely loved Edge of Chaos by Molly E. Lee!!
This is not the regular type of novel I would pick up. I was skeptical about it at first, however, thought I would give it a try and see if I ended up liking it.
I did end up liking it!!
Blake and Dash were two perfectly paired characters. They had a strong connection that was undeniable throughout the novel!
