Review:

I went into this book with very high expectations. I had heard so many people talk about this book and say how good it was, so I was expecting the same feeling. You know what, I totally did. This book exceeded my expectations and quickly became one of my favourite books of all time!!!!

I started the book by thinking it would be my lighthearted and easy read. It was all of the things I thought it would be, but it was also so much more. It was emotional, heartwarming and heartbreaking. You had scandal, love, tears and raw honesty at some points.

I instantly fell in love with Eden Munro the minute she was introduced to the story. After personally experiencing  divorce as a child, I knew exactly what Eden was going through. She was scared, heartbroken and neglected. Due to this, her entire childhood and life so far was completely shattered and altered due to her father. Now, she has to go spend the entire summer with said father. She is dreading the entire summer because of this, that is until she meets her angst filled stepbrother, Tyler.

“Who the hell is this jackass?”
“I'm guessing you haven't met your step-brother yet.” 

Tyler Bruce is the boy who redefines what a bad boy is. He creates trouble as though it seems to always follow him around. Yes he is bad, however, as you keep reading, you find out that there is more to him than just his bad boy attitude. He has gone through some major challenges in his life and in coping with it, turns into the person that he has. Just like with Eden, my heart hurt for him.

"He tastes like beer and tobacco, but there's something enthralling about it. It's so familiar because it's so him, his permanent taste."

The chemistry these two characters shared was undeniable. They had an honest and real connection that was impossible to deny. They were able to open up to each other and find reason to be together even through all of the pain and struggle.

“We shouldn’t be kissing on the floor of his bathroom and his hands shouldn’t be on my body and I shouldn’t be enjoying it.”

This book is about so much more than just first love. It is about family connections, divorce, the struggle to do the right thing and the power to overcome your weaknesses. Estelle has delivered a beautifully written masterpiece that will leave you breathless.

I am highly anticipating the second and third books in this series and already know, that they, just like this book will be making my favourite books of all time list.
